Default Zip - Intro

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Zip. Actually, I'm Zippity-doo-dah, but the form didn't like my use of the -

I'm not a chronic dieter. I've not done all the diets out there, although I have done - and loved HCG, the scale just keeps creeping back up slowly and it's too depressing to keep trying. I eat reasonably - mostly healthy choices and eat at home more than out. I'm short and for the most part have never been terribly overweight, but have ALWAYS fought the pudgy tummy. It wasn't too bad until after kids (one of them a ten pounder) and then years of stress spiraled me into all kinds of minor, but difficult, health issues that just seemed to move me from pudgy tummy into needing to shop in the maternity section. And I'm 49. My youngest is 19. I'm all belly - upper belly - the hard kind. My arms and legs, hips and butt are thin - but my belly is huge. I've been doing food elimination diets for years with no success and have tests run. I've seen several doctors and had several diagnosis but no success in controlling it. Did I mention stress? Yeah - that's not going away and I think it's the root of all of my issues: adrenal fatigue with now LOW daytime cortisol after a crash, low thyroid function but still in the normal range - tried natural desiccated thyroid for over two years and it just caused my heart to race terribly, possible insulin issues but haven't tested lately. I have been on and off birth control and antidepressants for 25 years and think this just compounded the problems. I've had nutritionists, functional doctors, ob-gyns, general practitioners, chiropractors, physical therapists, naturopaths, compounding pharmacist who offers several kinds of tests and consultations - all of them made very expensive suggestions and years later - still no changes.

Right now I am taking compounded prog/test, multi-vit-min, biotin, chromium piccolinate, calcium, magnesium, occasional digestive enzymes, and restoril for sleep (non-negotiable for now)

I just recently started Seriphos to help bring down high nighttime cortisol, diatomaceous earth, and monolaurin after doing a liver cleanse a few months ago.

I am sugar free and use xylitol in it's place, I eat reduced starches - not carbs, I eat as well as I can afford. I exercise sporadically and am working on consistency. I see a counselor to help deal with stress.

I have gotten to the point of being so embarrassed over the way I look that I am self conscious in several areas I used to be confident (I often stand in front of groups - this is getting really hard for me). Right now I'm really struggling with being bummed about all this and just need some group support.

So, that's my story.
