Default Hello, have you seen my scale?!?

Hi there-
I'm new to this team although I have been coming to this site for years.
Today I just had a moment of complete self hatred when thinking about how much I weigh.
Long story short, I'm 38 years old and have always struggled with my weight since childhood. I'm 5'4 and close to 220. Vegan and strong as an ox.
Nice to meet you all and hopefully this journey will be somewhat of a good time?

Welcome, popcorn! Try to let go of the self hatred, all you can do is try to make a positive change. Beating yourself up won't help at all. A lot of us can understand those feelings though for sure. I have also been overweight my whole life, but now I am making some big changes. And yes, it has been a good time! Yes sometimes I can't eat what/how much I would like, but that's ok. I am eating what I need and losing the extra. Congrats on veganism and strength! I am working on getting stronger but still have a long way to go. Good luck!!

I second that you should let go of the self-hatred. Do this because you love yourself, not because you hate yourself. Trust me, it makes it so much easier in the long run.

Losing weight can be a blast! It can also be frustrating, uncomfortable, rewarding, slow, quick, and totally worth it.

What's your plan for losing weight?

Thank you!! Tomorrow is a new day.
I think my first step is going to be to get back on the scale and go from there. I know it sounds stupid but I AM TERRIFIED!!!!! I haven't unpacked it since we moved as it will ruin my night/day/weekend if I'm over a certain number.
Other than that, I plan to work out more than 2x a week, reduce snacking, join groups (hello), and track my food. I thought going vegan would make me Kate Moss....yeah, not so much.

when you do step on the scale tomorrow, please don't let it ruin your day. Instead let it motivate you to stick to your goals and make sure that you never see a number higher than that one. Also no matter how bad it is, it could have always been worse so make sure to try to thankful that the number isn't even bigger.

Thanks, group. I did weigh myself and to my delight I haven't gone up.
Appreciate the support.

Being that I'm a newbie, is there a tips/tricks section in this forum?
