Default Yet another hello thread!

Hi! I'm using the Tesco ultraslim shake system, with various other dieting things.

I have bipolar, and aspergers, so going to a slimming world group wasn't for me so I decided to find support else where IE here.

I'm really depressed about my weight! It makes me cry a **** of a lot. I have lot 2lbs in 2 weeks (18st9lbs to 18st7lbs) but it never seems enough. I've only been at the diet two weeks, I need to give it a chance to work!

Any hellos, tips, suggestions etc would be nice. Look forward to talking to you all!

Hi Mango! Welcome to the 3fc forums!!!

I really relate to the crying over your weight part. I had times where I would just look at myself and think 'What have you done to yourself?'. Though I still get like that sometimes, I realize that we can't get upset about our current weight. Instead we can fight to make ourselves healthier which from your post it sounds like you've already had success! Congrats!

Hmmmm for tips I think the most important thing is to remember that weight loss takes time and that it didn't take one day to gain our weight. My mom always says to take it one day at a time and to concentrate on doing your best for that day. I find this helpful because I get discouraged when I get on the scale and I haven't lost much weight if any. Also I recommend some form of exercise. I usually go to the gym three times a week or I try to walk a lot. I also have a step counter on my phone which motivates me to walk more to reach 10,000 steps.

Excuse my long post...lol. Good luck on your journey and I hope you enjoy your time here! Everyone is very supportive and nice!

Thank-you for your reply.

Since I've started to do something about my weight I'm crying less. Today is the start of my third week healthy eating! I also have an activity tracker as of today! Small efforts I think.

Hi Mango, a small welcome from me, also a newbie. I totally agree - small steps and short goals are easier to focus on than the big picture and feeling in control of your choices makes things easier to handle. I'm glad you are feeling more postive. Be sure to post about your activity tracker, I'm curious to know if you find it helpful as I have been considering getting a fitbit too!

MangoPie! You're doing great! Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to weight loss, so just stick with it! You can do this!

Hi MangoPie and welcome! I'm new on this board too! Think of it this way, you are one less pound than you were the day before. That is an accomplishment that you should be proud of. We all wish we can take if off quickly but we can't. I watch YouTube when I'm feeling a little down and get inspired by everyone that has lost weight. I now read this board a little in the evening too. So many awesome folks here and it's so nice to see people reaching out to help others because you know what, they all understand. Take it one day at a time. One pound at a time. :-)

Thank-you for your replies. I'm feeling a little more confident now. I have a wrist tracker thing, I've set up my wii fit and while I've only lost 4lbs in 3 weeks I know that some of it is due to my period being soon.

I come here when I am feeling low and read the posts! I like how positive you all are. I know that it will be 1lb at a time and I am coming to terms with the fact that I will be chunky for a little while longer! It's hard to know that something I want gone NOW will take months.

Your words of kindness are wonderful, I hope we can all reach our goals!
