Hi, I'm new here. I am nearing my 39th Birthday and I'm hoping to use this year+ leading up to 40 to finally accomplish some heath goals. I am currently at my highest weight of 252 and I'd love to get to 200 by my 40th Birthday. It would be my lowest weight in more than 12 years.
I belong to a gym mostly because I have some serious back problems that act up if I stop going but I've never been successful losing weight at the gym. Changing my eating habits always works but it's tough to find the time for myself and to stick to it.
I have a low stress job that I love, but my job puts me in the way of delicious desserts, which can be problematic. I am married and have 2 kids. My family is very busy and I'm on my own as far as dieting. I need a place to check in and feel accountable so that I will stop giving up.
Thanks,

Your goal is really do-able so well done on that front. There are some great challenges on the board to get you checking in daily and accountable.
Having yoyo'd myself and had back issues in the past, I can relate to the back pain but hope your weight loss helps you in the long run.
What diet / way of eating are you going to do to lose weight?
I've done just about every diet there is at one point or other during the past. Right now I'm concentrating on no processed foods, no added sugar, no grain. Sort of my own Paleo -almost whole 30 type of diet. I have sleep and headache issues as well and originally tried the Whole 30 for that reason alone and ended up losing 17 lbs that month, sleeping better and being almost headache free. I also try to skip dairy as much as possible because that is a huge weekness for me and I can get derailed very quickly if we have any in the house.
