Default Getting in shape while short

Hi all, I've been lurking here quite a while and find a lot of inspiration!

I don't have a lot to lose, but on my frame it's bad. At age 48, I looked in the mirror and the extra weight is piled on top of my booty, my lower gut is hanging down in a flap and I have bat wings along with those lovely globs all over. I learned the hard way this summer that I still have to wear bandolettos or I get the dreaded "chub rub".

My body is a train wreck and I know exercise is the best thing but the only thing I have energy and willpower for right now is watching what I eat. I have such a tremendous appetite all the time - I eat as much as my husband and I eat so fast it is disgusting. I just inhale everything and then sit there while others eat normally. I take meds for depression, bipolar and ADD and none of them are supposed to make you gain - in fact most people lose weight on the ADD meds. I just don't know what's wrong with me.

I have been following Atkins and lost 6 lbs in a week - that is a lot of bloat.

Thanks for listening to my whine - but I think you all understand that feeling. Off to read more posts..

lyaga! The good news is that diet is 80% of the battle! Exercise is wonderful for health in general and of course fitness, but diet is what is best for weight loss. Atkins is a good plan and it's looks like you're off to a great start, so good luck!
