Default New and ready to be a loser!!

Hi all!! I'm a stay at home mom of 2 girls that's hit rock bottom I was at a school play 2 weeks ago and the family sitting behind me had a young girl that was complaining to her mom that she couldn't see. I knew it was because I'm so overweight and spilling out of the chair. I was mortified and didn't enjoy the play as much as I would have liked to. The mom quietly ttold her daughter to sush but it was too late, I had already heard her. I spent the rest of the play trying to shrink myself. I'm sure a lot of overweight people are familiar with this. Anyway, I figured that's it!! I have to start eating healthy and start moving so on Friday May 15th I started low carbing. I'm keeping track of what I eat on a calendar page that I printed out and taped to the inside of one of the kitchen cabinets and decided to only weigh myself every Fri and have a cheat day everytime I lose 20lbs. By cheat day I mean increasing my carb intake with good carbs and NO PROCESSED FOOD!!. I was down exactly 5lbs on Fri 05/22/15 and I could feel my shorts a little more loose in the belly area.

My goal to to lose 130lbs and change the way I eat forever.

Wish me luck!!

zorayam! I'm sorry you had that experience but I'm happy you've decided to make a healthy change as a result of it! Congrats on losing 5 lbs! What a great start! I hope you have lots of success with your low carb diet. I am doing a modified version of the Slow Carb Diet and it's working very well for me. Quick-burning carbs and I just don't get along, but with this diet and a cheat day every week, we're getting along much better now, lol! I wish you the best of luck!

Default Hello!

I'm sorry you're in a tough spot, but you are doing something about it, which most don't even attempt! You will feel so much better and have so much more energy to keep up with your daughters once the lbs start melting away!

I'm doing the "ideal protein" diet, which you can find all the information about on this website by looking through old forums/posts. My Dad followed this diet and lost over 100+ lbs at the age of 58-59 y/o. I have the same kind of metabolism/diet issues that my Dad has, and thought this diet would work best for me. There are no cheat days, it I had one, I'd fall off the bandwagon faster than I jumped on!

On that note, I don't pay $$$$ to go to the clinic and $$$$ on ideal protein products, I just printed off all of the guidelines, suggestions from forums, and purchased similar products and supplements at local stores. I'm down 8 lbs in less than 2 weeks, and my breathe smells HORRIBLE (ketosis)...lol! But overall I feel pretty good!

Hang in there, we're all here to help each other!!!
