Talking This is all new to me

Hello,
I am new to all of this....never been on a support website like this before. So if I am making a mistake I apologize. I am 36 and 307lbs. I am tired. Tired of being overweight, tired of life and tired in general. I have decided to start making positive changes starting today to feel better and get more energy. I am not too concerned with the number on the scale but rather how I feel. I don't like how I feel right now. I started using my fitness pal again to track my calories. I am a busy mom of two wonderful kids and work full time. I am currently struggling to find time for myself and workout.

mmickey43! I am so glad you joined! You will find lots of support here! It appears the plan you are using is counting calories, since you are using myfitnesspal, and that's great. I know you probably want the weight to come off quickly, but like all diet plans, you will lose excess water at the beginning, so you may have a "whoosh" of weight loss in the first 2 weeks, and after that, it should even out to 1-2 lbs per week, and that's what you want. Slow and steady is the key to long-term weight loss. You are going to do great! I am part of a group under Chicks Up for Challenge who stay accountable by coming on each day and recording our progress and encouraging each other. It's a monthly challenge, and although the month of May is almost over, people can join in any time! Please feel free to join us, or if you want to wait and start fresh in the June challenge, you can do that too! Everyone's very friendly and we want the best for each other. Here's a link: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge.html. If this doesn't look exactly like what you want to jump in on, take a look around because there are lots of other groups, threads, and forums to join. Some are more active than others but you'll soon figure that out. Good luck! You can do this!

Hi Mmickey, I just joined yesterday and mainly for the same reasons. I am tired, so tired. Like, physically tired and I hate feeling this way. I want to be able to be more active and do fun things with my kids. I am hoping my weight loss will help with this issue. You can do this girl! We both can

mmickey and Joseph! We will all be here to you on.

If you wish to lose over 100 pounds be sure to check out that forum. I like doing the threads where you are in say230's etc. with people in same place and the celebrating for each 10 pounds down you go. Also a daily accountability thread. There are different ones all over the place- just browse a while until you see some folks that resonate with you. I've lost 92 pounds (78 to go) and 3fc has really helped me since I've joined.
So from the 3fc fairy:

Welcome to 3FC!

Even small initial changes will probably make a huge difference in how you feel. Like maybe cutting back on soda (or another snack food), doing only 5 minutes of walking a day, etc. Many people feel better after doing small things like that at the start.
