Hello
Let me introduce myself I am Fanci7 AKA Brenda. I am 50 years old. Half a century. I know.. yikes. It creeped up on me.

I Live in Central Pennsylvania with my 29 year old daughter Cassie and our two katts Sammie and Tessie.

I have been struggling with my weight in one form or other since I was a teen.
I am morbidly obese. I have about 140 to lose.

I am confused about what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, food seems to be my enemy. Well maybe the scale is my enemy. Don’t know.

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and truth be told a whole slew of health issues.

I have talked to nutritionists and dieticians. They say portion control portion control portion control.. Ok that is well and good. I got that. But why don’t I lose weight.
I am tired of every year the government comes up with new food pyramids .. And this new my plate junk. This is very confusing.

My family doctor says 1200 calories … but when I eat 1200 calories which isn’t difficult to do, I do not lose weight. I normally eat between 1300 - 1600 a day.
Exercise is difficult .. Unless I do senior armchair exercises that are low impact because of my spine and knee issues. The joys of getting older.

I stare at food sites and make menus constantly. I get more confused.

There are food allergies so I make substitutions or omit. This sometimes adds to my confusion .

I stumbled across your site here many times and finally decided to join. Thanks

One very confused Woman.

Hi Brenda! I so relate to the confusion. Every one has a voice telling me what to do and how to do it, that alone is so painful and confusing. The best thing I can think of is to shut those voices, diets, advice, etc, up and listen to my voice, my body, my self. What do I want? what do I want to eat? how and when and where, do I want! and that's kind of what I am doing, what I want! my body is my very own laboratory where I can experiment and test and see and feel the results and do my own thing. That not only has helped me to see some results but it has also helped me to trust my own voice; to trust my self. That was a good starting point for me, self trust.
