Hi June! I'm new here, too, and also went on google to
find a group of like minded people!
I too am an emotional eater, plus I just enjoy good
food! I'm trying to learn to calm down, not eat over
a serving size of whatever it may be and enjoy food
without it turning into something I hate myself for.
The comedian LouisCK said "the meal isn't over until
I hate myself" or something like that. I so related to
his joke! but I find that if I make peace with the food,
calm down, savor it, eat serving sizes and just wait
a bit, I start to feel full and satisfied after the meal
or snack. I am mindful of calories and I also don't
keep foods in the house that I can't stop thinking
about.
Anyway.... best of the best to us! as we do good
things to and for ourselves.
