Default Newbie Here!

I am new here! My name is Krista! I started Weight Watchers 4 weeks ago! However I am not dieting! I am using it as a tool to work on portion control & for moral support. I want this to be a healthy lifestyle change. I have a 7 year old that I want to see be an adult one day. Right now my weight is affecting how I feel & I know my health. So I want to loose the weight & feel better.

I started at 238lbs, I am down to 231lbs. I am proud of what I have accomplished. My goal is to make it to 150lbs, so almost 100lbs! I can do this, but the more support the better!

Very good. Most newbees are going with yo yo diet plans, and portion control is the only real solution to long term sustainable weight loss.

Have you signed up for myfitnesspal yet? It's a great tool to help you track your calories, and you can add in workouts there too. I bought a Jawbone Up that syncs with MFP, and I have now gotten of a weight plateau, I have been stuck for months on.

I agree with Kscott.

Another thing you might want to look into is the don't go hungry diet which is not a fad diet. Its a lifestyle approach to better eating and weightloss that is workable for the long long term. Its written by a weightloss scientist. I enjoyed her first book and i am currently enjoying her second.

I didn't start reading her first book until i had already lost most of my weight and even then i wasn't ready to let go and completely follow her way but i believe the concepts are sound and her general approach is healthy and sustainable.

I got hungry for about the first 3 weeks, but burnt my way through it, now I am fine. I have never really lost any weight without some hunger pangs.

If I do get real hungry I just eat a tablespoon of all natural peanut butter, and that works for me.
