New to the site!

  • Hello everyone! My name is Liz. I have never used a site like this before, but I feel like I could really benefit from the support. I am currently trying to lose about 70 lbs. I am on my 4th day of Insanity, and it is definitely a challenge!! My short term goal for now is to finish one round of Insanity. I am hoping to see decent results afterwards that will motivate me to complete my journey. Any words of encouragement or a buddy to help keep me accountable would be amazing! Thanks!

  • Welcome, Liz! I, too, chose a weight loss plan that would show results quickly in the beginning, in order to be motivated to continue down the road. It has been working so far! (I started 3/26/14.) Like you, I set short term goals, to see if it's effective for me. If I stall for a long time (definition of long time TBD), I'm willing to change plans. I don't know Insanity, but I want to wish you well. You can do it!

  • Thanks so much for the motivation! It's good to hear you've been sticking with your plan. What weight loss plan did you choose, if you don't mind me asking. I just love learning new ideas.
  • I chose the 17 Day Diet (Dr. Mike Moreno has two editions of the book by the same title. The 2nd edition is called The 17 Day Diet--Breakthrough Edition.) I bring up the difference because the Breakthrough Edition has a 'transitional fasting day' that the original book doesn't have. Today I'm doing the 'fasting.' Not really fasting since I'm drinking healthy smoothies.

    3FC is a great place to find all the support and encouragement you may need in your weight loss fight...whenever I have self doubt or am overcome with a desire to cheat, I just come to this site. It's a wonderful source of motivation!
