Default New and Confused...Please Help!

This is my first time on a forum and I have no idea how it works. It took me about two hours to figure out how to post this message...ugh!
I found 3FC after reading another website on the Ideal Protein Diet, which my cardiologist suggested I research.

Well, here I am. Hating my immobility and not having a lap for my grandchildren. I have always been fat (obese) but active. In 2007 I had major medical problems and after a two-year sedentary recovery (actually left with some permanent disability), I found myself at 293 pounds. Between a little activity, WW and nutritionists and low-carb efforts, and many starts and stops over time, I managed to get down to 253 pounds. After going through the six-month pre-work, in September 2013 I was turned down for bariatric surgery for ongoing medical issues. I am looking forward to a new knee this Spring.

Now I need help for a big push to good health and mobility. My... problem... life-long... is that I have a problem with consistency. I am good at starting something new but really bad keeping up the momentum. I am the queen of the unfinished project. Can anyone offer help keep on track?

Looking forward to being an active forum member. I also look forward to giving back.

Welcome! I have had the same problem in the past - making a great effort at first but kind of slacking off and giving up after a while. I am determined to make this time the last time, and make the changes permanent.

I will say that after two solid weeks of logging my food and gettng in my exercise, I have not only lost a bit of weight but am also feeling more awake and I actually look forward to running with my dogs at night (despite the cold). If I skip more than 2 days, I feel really badly.

Good luck!
