Hi Everyone!
Calypso here!
I'm a 65 year old Texan, living in Mexico most of the year. Like so many of you, I have lost, regained, lost...and regained once again the same 50+ pounds. I'm brilliant at leaping on the "fitness bandwagon." My gosh...I've done it often enough! Unfortunately, I'm equally fantastic at jumping off.
My struggle parallels many of yours, I suspect. Getting gung-ho, committed dedicated to fitness...only to, several months later, lapse into old habits of couch-potato-ism and too many "comfort foods." I really hate exercise...so, it's an on-going challenge. I really love food...and use it for celebrations and sad occasions alike.
Turning 65 was a wake up call for me. Within 2 weeks, three close friends died. On Jan 6, I decided that, this time around, it wasn't to look good for anyone else...it was for me...and would be a complete lifestyle change. I've had bilateral total knee replacements and a total shoulder replacement within the past two years...so, I'm more of a tortoise than a hare...but, I am really giving it my all.I need to lose 100 lbs...and, saw this site...and, thought what a great way to keep at it. Support is a HUGE...and, I'd so appreciate any support from anyone! Good luck to you all!
