Talking newbie fatty!

HI! Im Mandi and I am ready to try my hardest to lose weight. I can use a lot of love and support because I can be very insecure at times but I also love to listen and help to motivate others. I am 22 years old and try to stay active I have a very sweet fiancé who is super supportive. He also has spinabifida and I care for him on a daily basis so I am up and down a lot and this weight is hard on my knees and back, I also have a little brother who has a few mental issues and is always wanting me to play with him and I cant run and play like he wants me to . I live with a large extended family in a big house and it is hard for me to lose weight or even think about eating right because everyone in my family is bigger and eats whatever looks good witch to my dismay is usually chips cookies and soda . So I am looking for help because I am ready to change my life for the better. I understand it will not happen overnight and it will be hard but I look forward to being healthy and happy plus I look forward to eating lots of yummy veggies! so far I have lost 20 lbs!

Welcome Mandi! CONGRATULATIONS on losing 20 pounds, that's fantastic!

Your environment sounds very challenging, but you have a great attitude, I know you can do it! Avoiding junky food when it is all around is you hard, and takes alot of mental energy and focus, but it will get easier as time goes by and you get used to grabbing an apple (for instance) instead of the cookies your family is eating.

You may find as you continue losing that you inspire your family with your successes, so KEEP IT UP!

You go girl! 20 pounds is a lot! You keep that up and you will see that your family will start to follow your healthy habbits. Maybe not at first, but when they see the results I'm sure some of them will start thinking about tracking your footsteps. Someone just has to start!
