Default New (old) Dieter

Hiya everyone. I'm 50 years old, and have succumbed to middle-aged spread in a BIG way. Dieting is pretty new to me, I understand all the common sense nutrition stuff, so all the experiential information is invaluable. Thanks so much. I'm grateful you're all here

My small bit of advice is to track every calorie that goes in your mouth. The only way to lose weight is to know the caloric and nutritional value of everything you eat. I use fitday.com but most people use myfitnesspal.

Good luck! You can do this!

Thanks Kaitie, I have a journal to keep track of all that I eat. So far so good.

Hi DLS1! Glad you joined us! I don't count calories, I watch carbs, but I have heard the fitnesspal app is fabulous for those who count calories. If journaling works for you and that's what you feel most comfortable doing, do what works best for you! Good luck!
