Talking new here and scared

Hi everyone. I'm jenn. I will be 30 in 11 days and I've never Been thin or even normal size in my adult life. I have tried to lose weight many times but give up within a week or two. I am joining weight watchers this Saturday since its the next meeting in my area and there running a special. So yay for that. I'm scared. I need a support system so bad. I want to be successful at this ya know?. I would like to lose 100 lbs. But taking it ten at a time seems less daunting. Has anyone here done weight watchers or IS?. If so do you like it?. Does it work?. My start weight is 254.4 so I have a lot to go. If anyone has advice or wants a buddy that would great.

Butterflygirl...I've done weight watchers several times. The only thing that holds me back from success on their program is ME! I tend to self-sabotage...especially after I start to lose weight as for some reason that feels really uncomfortable to me. Go for it!

Hi Jenn. Welcome. I'm new too and will be glad to help anyway I can. I'm much older than you, but our weight and goals are almost the same. I'm working on 10 pounds at a time because to say I want to lose 90 pounds overwhelms me. I have used WW several times and it works. I didn't keep the weight off because I wasn't willing to change the foods I ate. Now I know those foods are slowly killing me and clogging my arteries.

You can lose your weight. You have lots of people cheering you on here

Hi and welcome butterfly! We are pretty close to the same size. I've not tried WW but hear great things. I'm just counting calories and taking Sat. "off", working out more. 3FC is a great support place. I'll be your buddy. Feel free to pm me how you are doing any time.

Welcome

I'm so glad you joined here. You can do this! Although I haven't tried it myself, I hear good things about Weight Watchers. My good friend and neighbor lost 60 lbs on WW, slowly and steadily. It took some time, like any healthy weight loss, but she has kept it off for 2 years. She's an inspiration to me.

I also have set 100 lbs as my dream weight loss goal. I don't set goals of every 10 lbs... I set them for every 5 lbs., lol! I don't want to get discouraged, and personally I seem to do better with mini-goals. I have been amazed at the innovative ideas 3FC members have come up with to track progress and keep themselves motivated, from moving marbles over from one jar to another, to thinking of weight lost in sticks of butter.

We are here for you, and good luck!

There is a WW section on here and they have lots of threads about different recipes/meals to try and thoughts on eating your weekly extra points, etc.

I personally calorie count and love it, but WW is the only way my husband has been able to lose in the past so I know it works. I am 30 years old and am determined this will be my final time trying to lose this weight!

So glad you found this place!

Thank you all for the warm and wonderful welcome! I have following a guide I found online for the ww plan since Friday but I will joining officially Saturday. I'm excited to go to the meetings and have the accountability. So far I am following the points the site said I get wich is 39 a day. For the most part its going good but I don't get how I will lose weight if I'm eatining alday. Because I AM. I eat breakfast then later a snack then a then lunch then a snack then dinner and a snack if I still have point s so I'm scared ill just gain.

Hi Butterfly! WW is quite established. They know what they are doing and have many successful weight loss stories, so don't be afraid. As long as you stay within your points, you will do just fine! Good luck!
