Hey everyone, my name is Mae. I usually don't do these types of things but I am really fed up with myself at the moment. I have pretty much been heavy since I was a kid. I got used to eating a high carb diet at a young age and hardly ever ate fruits and vegetables. A little about my genetics is that most if not all of my family have extremely low metabolisms and have really bad gastrointestinal tracts. Throughout the years I have lost some and gain twice as much over and over again. My heaviest was 230 lbs and I am currently 210 lbs. I worked out about 4 times a week, drank a lot of green tea, and replaced the carbs with protein. Now I am doing the same thing I always do and I have stopped my diet for about two months. I started eating pastas and bread again which I know give me really bad stomach aches and makes me bloat! I know I have not gained a significant amount and would be considered water weight, however, this still is not good because I don't feel good. I want to be at most 165 by the end of this year. I obviously have an idea of what works for my body since I lost 20 lbs recently but I keep on basically hurting myself. I have thought a lot about this and have concluded that it is not the food I'm addicted to but it is the desire to make myself feel ill to my stomach or feel like crap. I have a past of hurting myself mostly because of nervous habits and stress. I never felt suicidal or any of that but I can't let myself just have peace or feel healthy. Another problem is that my boyfriend that I have been living with for about a year is incredibly thin and he practically has to eat a whole cow to actually gain a pound. He and I physically complete opposites because he can burn probably 3x as much calories than I can. Thus, there are two different diets that have to be met in this apartment. Since I cook basically everything, I will end up eating the food he needs.
Okay, ANYWAY! So, I just need some insight in what I can do to help me lose weight in terms of different foods/meals that I could eat that concentrate of more fiber and protein rather than carbohydrates? I have looked online but never can find answers that make sense to me. Also, do you have any advice for me so that I can get out of this rut and back on track in creating a healthier lifestyle for myself?
I'm sorry for how long this intro was......ha....
