Hello!
My name is Brit, and I'm a 21 year old student from Virginia. I don't have much weight to lose (in fact, I'm mostly concerned with inches and cleaning up my diet rather than pounds).
I have lost a lot of weight in the past. I went from 213lbs in my 8th grade year to 123lbs just after my 18th birthday, but it wasn't a healthy transformation. I was chubby from the time I was two or three, so I was harassed and teased relentlessly in school, and eventually developed disordered eating. Sometime around 16, I began to use diet pills to further my weight loss, and I'm still trying to curb my addiction today.
I've been in recovery since January, and I've relapsed a lot, but I really want to press onward with developing a healthy relationship with food. However, on my back to school shopping trip this weekend, I discovered my jeans size was a bit too high for my liking, and I'd like to change that. I'm certainly not aiming for a 0, but a 4 would be my ideal.
In short, I'm losing the inches the healthy way for once and figured this community might be an excellent tool for keeping my thoughts on track and helping me avoid the pills and negative self-talk.
