Default Just Starting

Hello I am 33 yrs old & I am just starting my diet today.
I have alot of bad eating habits & I know they are going to be hard to break
so i will need alot of support & help to get thru this.
I am a server so I work with food & alcohol daily. I also love to drink wine. So trying to quit drinking is also going to be a challenge.
Anyone have any tips for me on how to start the Ideal Protein Diet & or stop drinking?

I would just do it in moderation - don't do it as often or near as much. Make mini goals and reward yourself. Honestly a great thing to do is look at your bank statement and see how much money a week/month you spend on alcohol.

Welcome! Everything I was going to suggest was mentioned by alyssinker. I think it would be a good idea about checking your bank statement. Maybe save up the money you would spend on alcohol and then use it to buy some awesome rewards for hitting your goals? GOOD LUCK

The best way I know to quit drinking (or anything addictive) is to do it one step at a time. Set small goals, such as cutting out 10% of what you drink per week/fortnight. Going cold turkey isn't going to help because you will only end up binging (if binging relates to liquids?). Take it one step at a time and tell your friends that you want to stop and not to force you to drink when you say no. Also, when you are at parties or with friends, if you are used to carrying a glass of wine in your hands hold a glass of water instead. Your brain won't know the difference, only your consciousness will

This same principle applies to bad food habits too. My poisons are dessert and chocolate. To beat this, I don't buy any in the shopping but I have it when I eat out in a restaurant. It will take practice to change and there will be hiccups on the way, but remember that weight loss is a long-term goal and it will take more than one binge to derail your efforts I think I fall off the rails at least one a fortnight

I agree with small changes. They really do add up over time, and become something you just do.
