Default Newbie

Hello there,

I just joined this forum and hope to meet lots of nice people on here that help me stay motivated and also to recover from my binge eating.

I have never been skinny, I was more chubby as a kid. I always liked to eat and eat big portions. Over the years I have gained a lot of kilos. I am at my highest weight right now (93kg) and hope to lose about 30kg.

I would like to lose the weight as fast as possible, but since this never lead me to my goal (I rather gained it all back and more), I would like to relearn how to eat healthy, stay in proper portion sizes and get more active.

Hope to meet lots of people on here.
Xena

Hi Xena, welcome and good luck!

Our starting size is almost the same, though I was up to 96kg. I don't want to lose as much as you. I've always been big and I don't think I'd look right weighing less than 70 kg, but you never know!!

Portion control was my biggest issue, and mindless snacking. Have you decided how you're going to do this? I'd recommend a food scale so you know exactly how much you are eating. It took a while for me, but after eating correct portions for 4 1/2 months now, I feel sick just looking at how much I used to eat in one sitting. If tracking doesn't bother you either, I'd recommend a calorie counter app/website. I use myfitnesspal. It allows you to put in exactly what you've eaten/exercised so you know how many calories you have left for the day. It also will guide you as to how much you should be eating/exercising to lose.

Thank you guys so much!

I am using MFP as well and want to incorporate running, yoga and short workouts (Jillian Michaels for example).
