Newbie and Going Old School
I'm a 44 married woman with three boys. Here I am again dieting. I'm on day three and I want to eat buttery bread. Just saying!
I've done some research and I'm doing Weight Watchers exchange plan from the 80's. I've thrown hundreds of dollars in their point system over the last 20 years with only moderate success. It was frustrating because I wouldn't lose any weight week after week no matter how hard I tried and I even was struggling with low blood sugar. I asked the leader and she said, it's not a program problem, but it's a "you" problem. Eh-hem! I went home in tears.
Meanwhile, I've continued to gain weight. I'm now 175. Wow that was hard to type.
I lost 30 pounds in three months in 1989 in my early twenties with WW's exchange program. I managed to maintain my weight for 15 years. Fast forward to my mid thirties, I'm finishing my kids grilled cheese and doing my duty on cleaning silverware of frosting for kindergarten cupcakes. I later lost one thyroid lobe which didn't help. The amount of weight that is creeping up, I'm afraid I'll be in full blown obesity and diabetes in a matter of a few years.
I no longer want to throw money on programs, but I need support. I've been reading the threads here for a few days and it is inspiring. I look forward to getting to know you all here for a tough journey. I would like to start with 20 lbs.
God bless!
