So. Here I am. I read the book, which lead me here. HI!
Ok. A little about me. I am a very strong-willed, opinionated and independent redhead. I am a new vegetarian - it will be 3 weeks without meat in 2 days. I do still eat eggs and dairy, but they are VERY scaled back. I am married - just over a year (yay!) We have 4 dogs and a bearded dragon who are our "children." But both of us are ready for the 2-legged variety of dependents in our lives.
I have ALWAYS been overweight. But now, more than ever, I have a want to and really a need to to change my lifestyle and health. Though my doctor has never come out and said it (I think he's in denial), I'm pretty sure I have PCOS. I have never had a natural regular cycle since I was 13. I've been on birth control since I was 14. I took a year off of BC our first year of marriage because we wanted to give Nature the chance to do her thing in the reproductive arena of my life. That did nothing but land me in the ER with severe abdominal pain; come to find out, I may have endometriosis as well. Oh yea, we're jumping for joy around here, you know? *rolls eyes* So what all this has made me realize is that I have to take charge of my life 173% more. The last 28 years have been me living a life of being content; now I'm going to live my life with intent. And I intend to get healthy.
So I'm here to learn new things, to get support when I start to falter and to pick people up to the best of my cyber-abilities. Because let's be honest: we're women. If we don't stand up for ourselves and each other, history has shown us that no one else will. *exit podium*
