Default Hello to Everybody! 'Nother Newb Here! :)
Hello! Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself since I'm a new member here. Name is Stacy...nice to meet everyone! I, like a bunch others, am ready to tackle weight loss and hope to provide/receive encouragement from like minded folks who are looking to achieve the same goals.

I'm currently looking to lose 40 pounds and will be starting the Atkins diet tomorrow (wish me luck). I already know it'll be a struggle because I love my sweets and am a Dr. Pepper addict. But I'm pumped and ready to go!

I have to admit, it's not just wanting to lose weight that's motivating me, but also fear. lol I've got a good amount of belly fat which I've read increases your risk for several illnesses and I'm worried that if I don't do something now I may end up with diabetes or heart issues (both of which run in my family).

I'm looking forward to this journey and hope to keep up the momentum! There are a lot of inspiring stories and great advice/tips here that surely I can pull this off. lol

Welcome Stacy, I am new as well. I love this place because I sort of have others to be accountable to. I get excited to change my profile every time I lose a pound. Also I just have to say, Diet Doctor Pepper is yummy.

Thanks guys!

And, yes Tigerlilly6, Diet DP is good. I also like the Dr. Pepper Ten! Unfortunately, though, I can't drink it or any other diet soda. For some reason, I just have a really funky reaction to them. lol I think I may have some kind of allergy to aspartame; not sure.

So, it's all or nothing...I'm going with nothing. Made it through today without a Dr. Pepper and I'm proud, but just waiting for that moment when it will be more than difficult to slip.
