Default Hi from Kansas

Hi! Im from kansas and I am n my 50`s with 5 kids (3 still at home). I am a yoyo dieter and I would discribe myself as a food addict. I say that cause if there is any around I will eat it even if I dont like it. I wook in the food industry and have for 11 yrs. I cook and I sample. It is embarassing and depressing but I cant seem to stop. I am considering therapy. Has anyone tried that?

Welcome arkcitykitty!
I havent tried therapy but I have thought about it. I also have problems with food obsession. Read the book "The End of Overeating" It is all about our brains and what happens to them around food. It is really helping me understand what is going on in my body!
Good luck!

Hello arkcitykitty! I can't imagine how much harder it must be to work around food! Is this your first time trying to trim down?

Hello and Welcome!
I too am a yoyo dieter. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that my problem is being alone too much. I think I get bored and eat. If I'm busy doing something outdoors I can go all day and not think of food nor do I get hungry until evening. But, being 68 years old, living alone, and retired I have too much idle time on my hands.
I'll get serious about following a plan for just so long, then start craving those blasted carbs and I'm off and running with food again.
I'm starting some painting etc in my house and hopefully that will keep me occupied for a few months.

Angie, I just downloaded that book onto my kindle, but the battery is low so I have to wait for it to charge up, then I'm going to read it. There were a few more books about over eating on that site which I may download also.
Did you have a lot of luck using its info for losing weight?

Good luck to alll!! I'll be keeping up with your progress. ..... Carbie
