Default Hi everyone!

I'm 26 (in May) and live in Texas right outside of Dallas. I had my first child May of last year and boy did I gain some weight. I shot up to 225 and have since lost 50 pounds of that. I did it through portion control and just really paying attention to what I was eating. However, the past several months I have completely stagnated.

For three weeks I have been walking 3 miles 5 days a week (15 miles a week total equaling to 5 hours a week of cardio). I have continued watching what I eat but still haven't seen any progress!

I wanted to come here and join you guys for support during times like these when I feel like giving up and chowing down on a big slice of chocolate cheesecake.

I hope that I can eventually reach my goal of 135-145 pounds through healthy weight loss. Although I did feel a little of the dark side while walking through the diet aisle the other day... oh to take some magic weight loss pill and have all of this melt away (only to return later I'm sure).

Hi,
Welcome!! I read somewhere doing same things over and over and expecting different results is foolish thing. And I am such a fool. Just, check whether you have fallen in the same trap. I want to do some thing different, so started calculating calories.

IMPULSE ~ congrats on the 50 lbs you have lost so far; that is fabulous in and of itself -- be proud of that. The last lbs are always the hardest to get off and will take longer. Maybe you need to shake things up a bit, esp with your food intake; maybe lower it a bit, but I prefer cycling the calories (up & down) myself -- kinda confuses the body (my theory only though) ...

Take a look around the site; there's lots of forums you may like to join like the 20-somethings or new moms in Obstacles and so forth. Most of all, don't give up; just keep on, keepin' on -- something will budge eventually.
