Hello all, newbie here from California. I joined WW on Feb 26th. I'm the heaviest I've ever been, 264, and I lost a pound in my first weigh in at WW. I'm not sure how to find the right activity for me. I've been doing Wii Fit. I'm hurting, knees, hips a little. Guess I should expect some pain. I hate exercise more than restricting my calories and counting points. Again, probably normal. Anyway, thought 3FC might be a good plug-in!
welcome chunka!! yes, stick to it it'll get easier. Also, I always like to recommend zumba if you hate exercising. For me, it's so fun, it doesn't feel like exercise. I'm also from the bay area, but living in socal now
Hey Alitorry,
Thanks for the advice. Actually, Zumba has been a sort of wish thing for Me. It sounds like it would be right up my alley. I need to look into it. I assume the sessions vary in length, as right now I'm a sweaty sweaty girl with just a little exertion!
I really appreciate your kindness.
I agree that dancing would be a great way to start. I do that 2-3 times a week or more since I have some physical challenges and old injuries that I have to watch out for. I also do easy toning and reflex exercises and hand-weights; and don't forget just plain walking is good too.
You will like it here; lots of great people & support here. Jump right in and have fun ...

I have been making progress in the area of activity. Since week one on WW brought only a pound loss and taking into account I'm staying within my points, I decided that simply walking a lot wasn't going to get it. I've worked out 5 out of the last 7 days. I'm working out for 30 minutes with the help of Wii Fit. I'm doing about 10 minutes hula hoop and then the rest of the time is step aerobics and "free" step aerobics. It hurts my hips, yuck, feel old just saying that!
I think maybe I'll go to the "gym" in my apartment building and see if I can do something that's less impact on my joints for a bit.
BUT, the benefit from doing Wii Fit was that I lost another five pounds, bringing my loss to 6lbs. I'm happy with that not so much for the number, but for the fact that I proved to myself that I AM worth fighting for, even if it does put a little hitch in my giddy up!
Thanks all for listening to me!
