Hello ! I'm SanityNow, left the Community a while ago, but I'm back. I've lost 14 pounds through a combination of dropping the take-out food, limiting sweets, and Pilates - which makes me feel strong. I have another 20 pounds to lose to get out of overweightville. I haven't been smart about exercising, despite the fact that I know the benefits. This back-and-forth takes up a lot of my 'brain space' and I am working on getting exercise in its place and getting on with the rest of my life. To focus on movement, I'll be posting on the 'Get Movin' thread on Sundays.
I had a weight ticker, which I removed because I check my weight every morning and have learned that there can be as much as a 2-pound shift depending on what I've eaten, etc. I initially didn't want to weigh myself because I found the number discouraging, but then I said to myself that I need to know where I am in order to get to where I'm going to be. And I have more control over my weight than I've fessed up to. So getting on the scale is like brushing my teeth and showering in the morning, and I jot down the weight on a calendar that I have near the scale. I review in my head what I ate the day before, and can usually pinpoint something that I've eaten that i could have swapped for a more healthy alternative. I'm going to include exercise on the calendar to keep my focus.
I am wowed by the accomplishments and enthusiasm of the 2FC community. Thanks for 'listening' and Keep on keeping on !
