The name's Abbie. Learn it, love it. <3

  • Hi to all of my prospective new friends!

I'm Abbie. I'm 24 years old with nothing under my belt except a big pile of me! And, I'm sick of it. I don't feel desirable, sexy, or even good enough. Although my beloved assures me that I am beautiful, the depression associated with being overweight is one of my biggest challenges.

I'm a food person. I love gourmet cooking and baking! Some of my favorite series involve cooking in some way or another. The thing is, I'm a very healthy cook, as far as conventional wisdom goes. Does this mean I have to give up what I love? No, I don't think so. I've just got to quit tasting!

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease at age 18 and that seems to make losing weight about 300% harder. I've talked with my gynecologist several times about this issue and he seems to have lost faith in PCOS/ PCOD women losing weight! How very discouraging!

I came across 3FC in a Google search involving PCOS and weight loss. After reading a couple posts, I had to join. It is so nice to be part of a community with other women who feel my pain and understand how difficult it can be to lose weight.

  • Abbie, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diets plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the 20-somethings also.
