Default Greetings!

Hi everyone! I stumbled onto this forum while searching for low calorie tortillas. I read through some stuff and decided to stay. I've battled my weight all of my life, July 2010 I decided to really start a weight-loss journey, by July 2011 I had shed 80 pounds. Unfortunately I've since regained 20 due to heartbreak and depression. But I'm ready to get back in the saddle. I'm not sure how the whole buddy thing works but I'm interested! How does everyone stay motivated? Or when traveling/eating out with friends how does one stay on course? My "diet plan" is counting calories (it just works for me). I don't go over (or try not to) 1400 calories a day, I drink 1 12oz calorie free soda, and the rest is all water.

Welcome!
A tip I have for going out with friends to eat is knowing the menu. You could almost always find the menu online before going out. If theres any chance I can't find a menu online I just get whatever has more veggies and stay away from anything fried.

Welcome, Karri. Progress is a great motivator, stay on plan, set small reachable goals and celebrate those goals. As for eating out, for some it helps to see the menu on-line before going if you know where you're going and pick a healthy choice. That way you don't look at the menu and feel tempted by what others may order. You don't have to deprive yourself, you just have to control yourself. Good luck. There are lots of great folks here with much good advice. There are a large number of support groups so pick one that suits you and make yourself at home.

Karri, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the Calorie Counters,
