Default No Longer Lurking!

Hello All,
I have been a member here for several months, but this is my first posting. I have been every size from 5, when I left the Army, to where I am at now 22. Due to some medical issues brought on by MRC and medication I gained nearly 100 pounds in about 18 months.
I have tried many different gimmicks and even medication to help me lose the weight. But, I have not been nearly as diligent as I should have been and have always ended up back where I started. Or, in the current circumstance, heavier than I was when I started.
What has energized me to get serious and focused on my weight loss is the fact that at the first time in my life, I hurt. When I stand too long or walk too far my back and knees ache. I cannot live this way and I am determined to lose this weight. Also, another difference in me losing weight this time versus the other attempts is that I now understand that it took me over a year to gain this weight and it will take at least that long to SAFELY lose the weight.
I never want to be a size 3 again; I felt and looked my absolute best at 9-12. So, that’s my goal. My 20 year high school reunion is in November 2013, so I am not going to be the “person most changed” for the wrong reasons!

Zaffaris, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diets, themes, or age groups, find one that inspires you and just post to join!
