Default Need motivation & support to lose weight

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time on 3 Fat Chicks. I have tried dieting many times and have always ended up regaining any weight lost. I feel that if I go public (sort of!) then I will have more chance of sticking with it!

I want to lose approx 50Ibs by August (7 months). I have a wedding to go to and I know that there will be many old faces from my past there. I am embarrassed by how much weight I have gained since leaving school so I feel that this wedding is pretty good motivation.

The exciting part! - I got a Wii for Christmas and have just bought "Just Dance 3". It is so much fun and seems to be amazing exercise. I have also bought wrist and ankle weights and even a weighted vest to wear when then normal work outs get a bit easier.

So this is my weight loss plan:
1st Jan - 197Ibs
1st Feb - 187Ibs (lose 10Ibs)
1st March 180Ibs (lose 7Ibs)
1st April 174Ibs (lose 6Ibs)
1st May 170Ibs (lose 4Ibs)
1st June 163Ibs (lose 7Ibs)
1st July 157Ibs (lose 6Ibs)
1st August 150Ibs (lose 7Ibs)
Total Loss : 47Ibs


The figures may look slightly strange but I have worked them out in relation to my dairy over the next 7 months and how much exercise etc. I will realistically be able to fit in.

Has anybody lost weight using Lets Dance or am I kidding myself? I will also be walking my dog and doing some sit ups etc.. if I can keep myself motivated!

So here goes! Any support would be very very much appreciated!

Welcome to 3fc!

I would caution you against using exercise to lose weight. Exercise for fitness; the overwhelming majority of your weight loss is from your diet

That said, ANY movement is good for you, so go for it!

LucyLou, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. Find one that inspires you and just post to join!
