Default I will do something

Monday was the first day I have tried to make better choices. I went to my son's school for open house last week. Looked around the gym and saw only one other person there that was as big as me. That was a really horrible feeling. I'm tired of being scared to even try. This forum seems like a really good support system & I'm looking forward to being part of this group.

Welcome to the forum! You will find a lot of support and information on this site. I definitely know what it is like to look around and find yourself the biggest mom in the group. Not a good feeling.
Best of luck on your weight loss journey!

I want so much to stop doing that. It's the first thing I do when I walk into a room, as well. But, I decided that if I choose to not make any changes, I will forever wonder if I'm the biggest in the room. One day at a time, and hopefully our thinking patterns will start to change, along with our weight.

Welcome!

Hey Rachael,

One day at a time is all you can do. Just start by making some small changes each day and don't forget to exercise and drink water!

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago at my daughters open house. I couldn't fit in the dang seat. I had to sit crossways kinda. It was extremely embarassing!

I recently visited an old movie theater, which was where I had my very first job way back in 1996. When I was 17, I used to love to take my breaks because I was able to sneak into any movie of my choice and relax for 15 minutes. I used to curl my legs underneath, and take a load off for 15 minutes.

Fast forward to 2011 at 32 years of age, and I could barely fit in the seat. The theater was old and run down, and nothing had been upgraded...it was a terrible experience, and the worst part was not being able to fit the seat that I used to relax in.
