Talking Hi, I'm new.

Hello, I'm new here

I decided to make a move on weight loss after a comment from a relative which really upset me. I've been just generally cutting stuff out this past week and have lost 2lbs so far, which was a boost for me to see that I could do it.
I'm now starting with healthy eating and calorie counting rather than a set diet because I find it easier that way.

I used to have binge eating disorder which meant that my weight got higher and higher over the time I suffered. I've managed to recover from that but my weight never really went down either, so it's time for a change.

I look forward to getting to know you all

Welcome to 3FC. I wish you much success in your weight loss journey, which I am glad to see is through healthy eating. I strongly support the simple "eat less, move more" approach, where you learn to eat in a way that will last throughout your life. Slow and steady will result in wonderful, permanent loss.

I always felt that losing weight is like learning a language--as you go along, you have something to show for your efforts even at the beginning. As you get more and more into it, you see lots of results, long before you reach your goal.

The last thing I would mention is that weight loss on a graph would look like a zig zag--seldom moves in a straight line downwards. Don't be hard on yourself if you "gain" a little here and there. Stay on your plan as closely as you can and the weight will come off.
