Hi Everyone!
I recently found this place (about a week ago) and decided to join after lurking around and looking at everyone's success stories.
I'm 23 years old and just graduated with my MA in Childhood Education and Special Education—I'm proud of myself for getting that degree in a year! But now that my life has left the fast lane for a while, I really want to focus on getting healthy.
I started my weight loss journey back in December of 2010. I managed to lose 8 pounds and get down to 192 by eating right (I've always been exercising, just always ate too much so it never did anything). However the holidays came around and I didn't keep it up. However, I maintained the 8 pound loss. I was ecstatic that I could now fit into size 14s without any issue (previously I was 14/16 leaning toward 16)
Student teaching came around and I just continued my habits. I exercised 4-5 times a week as I always have even though I was taking an insane amount of classes on top of student teaching! Finally, near the end of my student teaching experience (May 2011), I decided to get serious about losing weight. I began to restrict my portion sizes without adding additional exercise and the weight came off.
I've lost 30 pounds so far in total (and can fit into a size 10!). I love how everyone notices and comments and then asks me how I did it

I even had someone I hadn't seen since last year not even recognize me!
I'm proud of the progress I've made and I hope this community can help me lose the extra 30 or so I want to lose.
