Smile Need all the honesty I can get!

Hello everyone!

I got on the scale yesterday and saw the biggest number I have ever seen (without being pregnant). 274. I have gained 20 more pounds just in the last few months. I used to be a very fit athlete and at this point I have used every excuse- pregnancy (that was a year ago so can't use that one any more), stress, no time, new kid, new job----IT HAS TO STOP! I have reached that point. Now I jushave to figue out wich of the many "pans" to start with. So, instead of sitting here and analyzing it todeath (one more excuse) I am just going back to journaling and calorie counting. I decided to become a member of this site because I need a place to be honest with myself- and that others would be honest with me about my weight- thank you in advance!

Welcome! I think many of us know the horrible feeling of stepping on the scale and seeing an outrageous number. Yay for calorie counting and journaling! We can do this! I started on these forums after very, very seriously considering weight loss surgery. Gee...have the surgeon cut out half of my stomach OR eat what I want in moderation as I count calories.

What kind of athlete were you? So you know how to train, etc. You will do very well. No excuses. : )
