Default New Here Too

Hi all,

I just found this site yesterday, and I'm so excited about it! I am a teacher, and I have an 8 month old baby girl. I have always been overweight, fluctuating between 160 and 190 (not counting pregnancy weight, when I broke 200 for the first time in my life.) I struggled with losing weight after my daughter was born and I went back to work. I felt like I needed to spend all of my time with her when she was awake, since I missed so much going to work, and then when she slept I tried to catch up on everything else. I decided to really take advantage of the summer vacation and started working out 5x a week (treadmill, power walking, some running). I also started watching what I eat (more recently--at first when I began working out, my eating got out of control.) I lost 9 pounds in June and so far two this month. I was really hoping to go back to work 20-25 pounds lighter, but I'm realizing that it is going to come off a little slower.

I'm on day 5 of the 30 day shred, and I am aware that it might cause me to put on a few pounds of muscle, which I'm okay with. I took measurements before so that I could see change despite what the scale says. My husband is really supportive and tells me every day how proud he is that I'm working so hard and sticking with this. He eats whatever I make (which means he's lost some weight, too--at first, more than me! The stinker...)

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and looking forward to talking with you all!
Erin

Welcome to 3FC =)

Glad to have you join us! It might be coming off a little slower, but it's still coming off steadily which is fantastic! =)

You're very wise to take measurements and recognize ahead of time that your weight might fluctuate, but the exercise will still do you good!

Hope to see you around the boards ^^
