Hi everyone!
I've been lurking on the 3FC forums for a few weeks and decided it was time for me to join. I've looked at other forums and this one seems very supportive and friendly. I'm looking forward to being here.
A little about me: I am 30 years old, 5'7", and currently 208 lbs. Before I began my journey, I was an emotional eater. Anytime I was aggravated or bored, I turned to food for comfort. It was nothing for me to have a bad day at work and come home and eat an entire large pizza.
I started my weight loss journey in September of 2009. I woke up one morning and decided it was time to get real and lose weight. And I did. I dropped 41 lbs. over five months.
However, I was still eating the wrong foods. I let myself put back on 27 lbs. over the next year and few months. Then I turned 30, and I realized that if I want to live the longest life I can, I have to do something now and not wait until I'm 50 and having my first heart attack. We only get one body, and we have to make the most of it.
So, at 227 lbs., I started again on April 16, 2011. So far I've lost 19 lbs. But this time, I'm watching my fat, cholesterol, and sodium in addition to calories. I have "elevated" cholesterol that my doctor thinks I can lower with diet and exercise. I'm confident I can. I've also added cardio to my daily routine.
Sorry if this post is a little long, and I appreciate you reading it. I look forward to meeting the great people here. I know we can get this thing done together!
