Howdy all, I'm a newcomer and someone suggested this forum on one of the horse forums I'm on. I took a look around and it seems great!

I've always been chunkier, never been a thin pretty girl. I'm a huge tomboy, so that doesn't help and frankly I'm a little tired of being actually assuming I must be a lesbian if I'm fat and live in jeans and t-shirts. How stereotypical can you get?

I'm 25 years old, and currently I'm at 206 pounds. At my heaviest I was 212 pounds, I've lost 6 pounds but totally dead ended at this weight. I started gaining after high school, got about this size, and then started doing drugs to lose weight in 2005. I dropped to 125 pounds at my lightest in a couple months, completely unhealthy. As soon as I quit drugs a couple years later, it slowly started creeping back until I am RIGHT back to where I started, plus some.

I am a horseback rider, so I am fairly active but I have terrible eating habits - I rarely eat on weekends, and during the week I stuff myself on greasy fast food. I suffer from depression and I am bi-polar which makes it ten times harder then normal.

LOL, sorry for the novel, looking forward to getting to know you all! My goal weight is 150-160 pounds right now.

Welcome and hi from another horse lover! I have an APHA mare and a little pony gelding my 2 year old rides (ya my 2 year old even canters). I was 201 when I started my diet and I've lost just over 28 lbs and what a difference it already is making with my riding haha. I'm waiting till I get back closer to my ideal before I start my mare in barrels. My true love is cross country but I have a huge tank of a paint that looks at jumps and laughs at me!

Welcome to 3FC =)

You aren't alone. We're all here to get healthier and maybe lose a few pounds in the process.

You might be interested in the 20-somethings area, Depression and Diet Issues section just to start. =) Please post wherever you're comfortable!

Thanks guys!

Hehe, yeah I'm taking Dressage lessons on my Paint right now, but I love barrel racing as well. Just seems a little ridiculous to ask my mare to give it everything she's got when she's lugging around an extra 50 pounds of human! We're going to stick to flat work for now and hopefully as I lose and tone, we can look forward to jumping and barrel racing!
