  • Hello.... where to start? lol. my name is sammie, i'm 20 years old from Iowa, and i currently live in ontario canada with my boyfriend of 2 years.

i'm joining to help get some support and hopefully some encouragement with trying to get back to my normal weight. i know it's going to be difficult in the area of motivation, but i'm long past due on being ready to do this.

i'm 5'9 215-ish right now. at my peak level of physical fitness from my activity of choice (horseback riding), i was a healthy 175 lbs. i get my build from my father who is not really 'fat' per say, but built like a tank if you will. i am a work-at-home self-employed social media manager right now. after i quit high school and lost my horse to theft, my weight went up pretty fast i guess. at 175 i had a flat stomach and was a size 12-14.

my weight gain went up a bit after i lost my first pregnancy at 9 1/2 weeks back in february. thankfully i lost all the bloat quickly to realise i was 215 lbs (it was my first time stepping on a scale at the hospital when it happened since high school... ouch)

i am hoping to get back down to 175 through a good exercise routine that could spark into a new hobby for me because i really need one, but being a work-from-home girl, it's hard to find the motivation to do this lol. i want to lose the weight to get my confidence back at to be able to shop at normal stores at the mall again. this body just isn't me. i am currently a size 16, 18 on a bad day. hopefully joining this community will open doors to me for new ideas and support to lose this weight and get back to the real me.
  • Welcome! Have you decided what type of weight loss plan you are going to follow? Count calories, weight watchers??
It is hard for me to get motivated to exercise but I force myself to do it at least three times a week.
Best of luck on this journey!
  • Welcome, there is plenty of support here. Please feel free to ask advice anytime!

i'm not following a diet or plan, just portion control and cutting out complex fats like greasy food and anything not fresh or homemade + exercising =]
  • Welcome. I'm sorry for your loss. Actually, I'm sorry for both of your losses. Best wishes as you start this journey.
