Fresno - I've seen you mention the Red Wings and the Tigers! Are you a fellow Detroit fan??? :) I was bummed the Red Wings lost too, but the Tigers are on a roll!

Now on to weight loss... Does anyone else find that they tend to dwell on their mistakes? I had a Coke last night - my first pop in nearly 3 months - and I have been feeling guilty about it all day! I know I need to let it go, but it is just eating at me. I'm tired of failing at weight loss and I don't want this one slip-up to ruin everything. I'm know I'm being overly critical and I need to forgive myself.

Does anyone else fall into these type of negative thought cycles? What do you do to get past it or to keep it in check?

Been lurking, wanted to introduce myself

I'm new to this, four weeks on IP, and almost 30 lbs slimmer. I have another 20+ to go and I'm back to a weight I've not been at since college. I have one day left on an out of town trip where I did pretty good in spite of leaving my vitamins (except four cal mags that I broke up and paced myself on). I've been walking around with my homemade salad dressing, and sea salt and have ate out every night sticking with a meat with veggies each time even while my colleagues drank alcohol. The great thing was I didn't even think twice about it, all I think about is reaching my goal.

Thanks for reading, I come here all the time for motivation, so I figured it would be great to officially join the community.

Hi andre959! So much motivation! :) keep up the goor work!

Fresno: yes, I play indoor hockey and I looove it! ahaha! It's a friendly league of students of my college, we play once a week and we wooooon last night! I play defense :)

So you're a Red Wings fan? They had a good team this year, I was surprised to see them get eliminated that early. I'm a habs fan.. (talking of people that were eliminated early hehe!)

So for the weight thingy, I'm going on the scale tomorrow.. A bit stressed but I'll keep up the work!

themilesawaygirl 05-20-2011 04:59 AM

High Heels - I'm totally the same. I had an AWFUL night last night food-wise. Had cocktails, cake, KFC. a few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but now I'm riddled with guilt, I'm miserable, I'm stressed, I feel fat and ugly. Talk about negative thought cycles!

I'm not the best person for advice on getting past it as I know I dwell far too much too, but I'm trying to just tell myself over and over again that I can't change the past but I can change the future. I vow to be extra good for the next day, fit in an extra workout and then treat myself with a superfood smoothie afterwards.

Weight time this morning : after struggeling all week on a really plateau-ed weight, the scale told me this morning that I lost a pound! Not the biggest lost ever, but I was really depressed yesterday by the thought of loosing NOTHING for a whole week lol. No yay!

High Heels and themilesawaygirl : I totally know how you feel! I have a dinner at a restaurent tonight with friends and I'm so stressed about what I', going to eat! I think I'll go check the menu online, so i'll have a good idea before getting there of what I could have and what I definitely can't have hehe!

Have a good day everyone!

Yay Turbo! I lost a pound this week too. So glad, as I have been frustrated with lack of weight loss as well, although some is lack of motivation on my part. I hate going to bed hungry! High Heels, I totally feel your pain. I am going to a 9-course meal at a wedding tomorrow and stressing over how I am going to eat there and not feel horrible at the end of the day (and not regain the lb I lost!).

Hope everyone is geared up for a good weekend! :)

Hi Everyone,

Worked up the courage to do my weekly Saturday morning weigh-in after a week of not-so-good behaviour and found I'd lost 2 lbs!!! Go Figure!!!

Have had a really busy week otherwise.....guess thats why I havent been so good with the diet and eating on the run most of the time...hopefully this week will be more organised food-wise..

Have to start my week-end of housework and cleaning now, so time to burn a few more calories...

Milesawaygirl......yes I remember Coronation Street.....I'm also old enough to remember Ena Sharples!!!!! LOL

celine567 05-20-2011 09:15 PM

BTW can someone tell me how to adjust my ticker as the weight goes down? Thanks xx

TurboMammoth 05-21-2011 04:28 PM

Yay HiltonHead, we'll get at this weight one pounds at a time!!! :)

I was so stressed about last night, I had a dinner at a restaurent (first since I started dieting) and I was nervous I'd loose control. Everything went well, I manage to stay away from the goat cheese-bacon burger and go for a thai chicken breast, small portion of pasta and veggies and a single cup of wine... and half serving of chocolat mousse with the bf lol (the only place I lost control!) I was over my WW point, but because i was so careful during the day, i was just a couple points over, nothing dramatic!

I just came back from a 3 hours hiking walk, felt so good, it pushes back the excess I had last night LOL!

Hope everyone is having a good saturday! :)

fluffyfashionista 05-22-2011 11:32 AM

it was a crazy week for me. my dog had a seizure last sunday and my whole week was kinda thrown off by it.

weighed thursday and was only down one pound. i guess i'll take the small victory.

im still riding high on meeting my 10 pounds in one month goal. since i made it in 3 weeks, i think i got lax in my eating, lol!

i made that goal when the guy im dating left town for a month with his job. he comes home tomorrow, so i'll do a final weigh in.

if he doesn't notice, im dumping him STAT!

themilesawaygirl 05-22-2011 07:28 PM

Wow, congratulations to ALL of you for the losses! Even a small loss is a victory, I'd be happy for small losses rather than no movement / gains :-(

Turbo - Well done on the control in the restaurant, I really admire your strength. Keep up the good work!

Fluffyfashionista - Sorry to hear about your dog, hope it all works out for you. Good luck with the guy coming home, I'm sure he'll be knocked out by the change!

Off to bed now, hoping to wake up tomorrow motivated and ready for a really good week.

Hi friends!

How was everyone's weekend?

I AM a Red Wings and Tigers fan. :) Glad to see other sports enthusiasts here! :)

I'm feeling mostly back on track food-wise today. PB/banana sandwich on wheat for breakfast...vegan turkey pita (wheat) for lunch, with an apple. May split a Subway veggie tonight with the boyfriend, since we've gotta finish stuff up at the other house.

Still pretty stressed, and have been continually eating everything in sight. I'd better get back to doing some exercise soon, or I'll be back at 170. Boo!

What's on the menu for you ladies today? Anyone have any workout(s) planned?

fresno26 05-23-2011 03:32 PM

P.S. The Wings and Habs will BOTH have better playoff outcomes next year! ;)

Gigi33 05-23-2011 04:22 PM

I'm with you. I've lost this weight before so I know I can do it again. I just need some friendly support and motivation.

I hope so! Wings and Habs in Stanley cup finale for next year!!! :carrot: ;)

On the menue for tonight, I'm trying chicken en feta burger receipe that I found in the receipes section of 3FC forum! It looks so good, can't wait to try it!

I had a normal menu for the rest of the day ; this morning, english muffin and jelly, 2/3 cup of milk and a banana, and for a quick lunch before cleaning the mess that is my appartment, 1 cup of chicken noodles soup, 4 triscuits and an apple. :)

I have to be very careful this week, I'M spending the weekend out of town to attend some meeting.. harder to control everything you it there :S

I hope everyone's having a good day!
