Smile Saying hello :)

Hey all i'm a newbie here. Gonna be 21 in July and want to kick myself into gear by then. I'm not sure about goals and all yet. i just got my goal off of a healthy weight chart.. I have never been a happy or healthy weight and i am fed up of being a blob. i dont even feel like a girl! isnt that sad. well deep down i know i want to be wearing pretty dresses and doing my make-up. i always pretend that im not interested in that sort of thing but truthfully i just dont feel like im worth the effort but now im going to do something about it!
sorry for the long post and the whining i just needed somewhere to get it all out y'know!
well, thanks for reading. i am going to check out all of the forums!

Hi goingglamour! welcome to 3FC! you dont have to apologise for long posts or sharing how you feel because I'm pretty sure that there will be more than a few people who have experienced the same! at the end of the day we are all here to help and support each other.

You've just taken the first steps towards your undecided goals, so CONGRATULATIONS! I have been through exactly the same feelings about not feeling as if I'm worth spending time on, or money for that matter. For a long time, I pretended I was allergic to make up! I even pretended to be ill on the day of school prom a few years ago! I can sit here and say that "you are worth it", which you are! But you need to believe it.

So do you plan to follow a particluar diet or fitness plan?

Hey ASF. Thank you
umm.. i am doing a lot of research i guess i will just be counting calories. I know from past experience that a set diet plan wont work. and the exercise bit, i am still researching that too. i dont think i will be going in public with my exercising for a while :P
What do you follow if you dont mind me asking.

Hey, I'm not really following a proper diet as such, in the past they just havent worked. This time I got the help of a trainer to sort my food and exercise out. Basically, I have tried to cut out all processed foods and fizzy drinks and have cut down on carbs and fats. I try to eat smallish meals plus 2-3 snacks. I try not to eat after 7pm and if I have to I avoid carbs. I have to keep an eye on calories but dont exactly count them. The other thing I have done which really helped me is to write down everything I eat/drink. It can help me figure out what working and whats not. I also try to drink 2.5 lites of ice water a day. My trainer told me Ice water is better because some how it speeds up you metabolism!

Exercise wise, was initially more tricky. I was pretty scared of going to the gym and other people seeing me when I exercised. Now, I try to get at least an hour of exercise in a day. I see a trainer once a week because I need that accountability and he is the only one I talk to about trying to lose weight, other than here. At first though, my trainer had me training at home, then outside, then gym studio and now I'm at the gym with or without him!

Hey! Planning definitely makes things a lot easier, from planning your grocery list to when you get stuff done, really helps stay on track. I'm sure you'll find a method of exercise you're comfortable with. I love the fact that there's so many videos online for free so if I cant get to the gym I can at least do something.

Good luck!
