Red face Hello from Texas!

Good morning! My name is Shelley and I need weight loss support! My son (2LT in the Marines) has invited me to join him and his girlfriend and her mother on a week long Caribbean cruise May 8! I want to look my best that is possible in the short time I have to prepare. I need to lose weight for health reasons (5 year breast cancer survivor!!) and this cruise is the impetus I needed to really kick it off.
I am 30 lb. overweight. I love to cook and love to eat! I have been eating on the no white/refined diet for a couple of weeks. Lost 3 lbs. Blew it on a church retreat last weekend and now I am finding it hard to get back on...

Welcome from a fellow Texan!

It's hard to get back on track when you get derailed, but this is an excellent place to get support! I had zero support at home, and then I found 3FC and everyone here has stayed with me through my freak outs, complaints, rants and incessant questions.

Anytime you go overboard, don't beat yourself up over it. Just tell yourself it was one day, and jump back on track. Don't fall into the trap of "well, I blew it - screw it all!" like I have before.

What type of plan are you following to reach your goal, or to get as close as you can?

I am using the no white/ no refined diet. Cutting out white rice, potatoes, bread, etc. Going all whole grain, low fat, friuts and veggies (except corn and potatoes).

Hi Girls,
Would be really good to see if you go at it completely hardcore - how much you can lose by May 8th.
I once (using Slimming World Intensive plan) lost about 1.5stones in 10 weeks.
I've recently lost a lot of weight by a great healthy diet, no weighing, no measuring, so easy. Just Museli, yoghurt and heaps of fruit all togehter (Strwbs, blueberries, kiwi and banana) for breakfst - so so so filling. hughe salad and ham perhaps tortilla for lunch and then usual evening meal - just a smaller portion (you get used to the smaller portions so quickly). I couple this with exercise 4x weekly and the weight just came off.
It really wasn't that hard to stick to either.

hello girls i also need to get on board last summer i was doing great and went down from 289 to 248 but then i just gave up so i need to get back on track for sure.i have my friends wedding coming up on April 23 so i really wanna lose 15 pounds.so wish me luck yay we should start like a team or challenge lol

Hiya!

Welcome to the forum.

The cruise sounds so nice. Now I'm also in the mood in to go on a cruise.

You can lose about 8 pounds healthily in 6 weeks.

I've joined weight watchers and I would recommend it to anyone.
