Default I'm back...and 25 pounds lighter

Hi everyone!

I wanted to sort of re-introduce myself, because it's been a while since I've posted here.

I'm Sam, a 23 year old High School English teacher from Boston.

I've struggled with my weight since starting college in '06. It's never been a HUGE issue, but I've always been at least 20 pounds overweight, and just generally not very happy with that fact. Other than just being a bit overweight, I'm pretty healthy and in shape...so it's made focusing and losing the weight all that much harder.

Over the past 6 months, I've been doing weight watchers, and I've lost 25 pounds! I'm psyched, but since gaining weight in college, I still have about 30 more to go.

Recently, paying 40$ a week has become impossible with my financial situation, so I've begun weighing in at home in front of my best friend for accountability, and following points plus with the materials they gave us on day 1.

I figured coming back here could help me, too.

I'm happy to be back!

Welcome back, Varsity! Congrats on your 25 pound weight loss so far! I think weight watchers is a valuable tool and I liked being held accountable too on a weekly basis but aside from the financial aspect, I realized it was time that I had to hold myself accountable. :-) And you will find that soon enough you'll find that more powerful than Weight Watchers!

But anyway, I know you will be as successful losing the next 20 pounds as you have been losing the last 25. Be prepared tho! You are at the point of dropping clothes sizes like crazy. All I can say is buy a little smaller than what you are currently in. At our height and weight, losing even just 5 pounds is a huge difference in clothing size.

I just wanted to say congrats on the weight loss!

And I completely understand about how quickly the costs from weight loss programs can add up. But I'm sure what your doing + the support from 3FC will work just as well. Good luck!

Welcome Back Sam, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
