Smile My introduction

I'm new here, have seen some of the posts on this forum whilst googling fitness and diet advice and it seems very supportive and friendly.

I don't have a massive weight loss story. I've always typically put weight on in the winter when the horrible weather sets in, then lost it all in the summer when I'm out doing things all the time. However, the last few years I've had to deal with major exam seasons in the summer months (2011 will be no exception), so sitting inside revising for months has meant I've gradually been putting on weight.

Decided to do something about it at the start of this year, and since January 1st have dropped from 76.8kg to 67.2kg (just over 20 pounds). I've also dropped from a UK size 14 to a size 12, which I'm very happy about! My weight loss has been fairly rapid- more then I wanted (I aimed from 1kg a week), and I envisage that the next 20 pounds to my final weight loss target of 59kg/130 pounds is going to be a lot slower, so though now would be a great opportunity to benefit from the support on here.

I'm also trying to get a bit fitter, have started running again on the C25k program and am doing a bit of weight training. Am currently on week 5 of the program after having to repeat a couple of weeks due to shin splints (from taking things too quickly!) and have entered a couple of 5k races in May and July.

That's about it really. I hope that by the summer I'll be a lot fitter, happier and more body confident, and able to fit into size 10 jeans!

Welcome, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join. Be sure to check out UK Chicks for a start!
