Hello! I decided to join this site because I need some motivation and encouragement, and I am hoping to meet some people with similar goals and issues.
I am a grad student, and have been binge eating to cope with the stress of school. I'm 6ft tall, and was 137 when I started grad school. I'm now up to about 146. I haven't weighed this much since my junior year of college five years ago!
I work out religiously five times per week and eat healthfully. My problem is that I binge eat about two or three times per week, bringing my daily calorie totals up to about 3,000 calories on those days. As I'm sure those of you who binge know, the day after a binge is terrible - almost like a hangover!
I'm embarrassed and frustrated with myself for doing this. I feel awful at this weight; my pants are getting tighter and I don't feel sexy around my bf.
I know that my weight loss goal of about seven to eight pounds isn't huge, but getting over the binge eating is very important to me. Hopefully I can find some like-minded chicks on this site and we can support each other as we reach for our goals!
Thanks for reading this, and best of luck to everyone with their weight loss journeys. I know we can all do it!
Welcome, glad to have you join us! Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a Support group, Chat, or Challenge to join. Small groups of friends to help keep you motivated and make it easier to get connected. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.
To talk about binge-specific issues, you may want to check out the "Chicks in Control" forum. It'd be a great place to settle in. I'd also suggest that you look at the Featherweights" forum, for those who are starting at weights close to goal.
I have no idea of your frame size, but be aware that your goal weight is very, very close to underweight for your height.
