Default Hello from Montana

Hi All,
I'm Deb and have been perusing the community for a few days. Am a little confused about where and when to post, but have been a member of another huge on-line community for a few years and know that it takes a while to figure things out. The other community is for cardmaking and scrapping.

I am no different than you all in that my weight has been a lifelong struggle. I am also an alcoholic, and have been sober for 26 years. I know the value of support, but struggle with making the connection with food. I maintian that it is different than working on a drug...you can actually avoid chemicals, but not food.

I've been with my husband for 22 years, and we live on the family farm with our dogs and cats. Sadly, I lost both of my horses this year. No children, but lots to love in my job with our public schools. I will turn 50 this year. I look forward to becoming a useful and fun member of this community, as well as gleaning all the knowledge you all share, too!

Welcome Deb! I'm brand new here, too. Just signed up a couple nights ago. I just wanted to say that it is great how long you've been sober...just wonderful! You obviously have a strong willpower, so I have no doubts that you will succeed in your weight loss goals, as well.

Deb, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
