Default I'm ready for a change

Hello all! I'm Amanda

I am finally committed to making the changes in my life that I need to make to get healthy. My biggest struggle is finding people in the same situation who can encourage and support when I am resistant to the change. I hope that I can find that link here.

I look forward to making new friends, learning new things about the process and coming out successful in the end.

Good luck Amanda, I came here for the same reasons. Hopefully we both find it!

Hey Amanda, from another Amanda in CA!

We have a ton of spots where you can find people in the same situation...by age range, by eating plan (Calorie Counters, Weight Watchers, South Beach...we've got forums for all of those, and many more), and by amount to lose. You might want to visit the 100 lb club, for those on their way to losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more. It'd be a great place to settle in and meet those who started from a similar place.

So look around, then jump on into posting wherever you like. Hope to see more from you!

Hey Amanda! Thanks for the advice about where to start. I'm wondering, from your username, your middle name is Lynn. Mine is Lynn and I've yet to meet another Amanda Lynn!

Thanks again!

Yep - another Amanda Lynn! I was named, on purpose, after the instrument (the mandolin) =)

Hi Amanda! Welcome! I'm beginning my journey also! Our status are almost identical! What's your plan? sometimes just saying it out-loud or typing it in this case makes it easier to see the goals. Looking forward to supporting you.

Hello CoCo! Our stats look eerily similar and that could be a good thing, as we can support one another.

My plan thus far is eat better and move more. Sticking to a 1400 calorie a day diet and working out at least 4 times a week. I am starting the C25K program today and in between running days I will do strength training.

How about you, what's your plan?

archigirl - That sounds like a good plan..

I'm going to be on a VLCD (Optifast) 800 calories, medically monitored for the next 6 months. For exercise, I'm going to be doing Zumba, Biggest Loser Cardio DVD and I just got my 15lb Kettlebell with DVD in the mail yesterday
