Default Here I go again!

Hi there, everyone. I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster.

A little bit about myself: I'm a 33 year old stay at home mom of two young children, married, and...well....struggling. Since the birth of my second child, it's just been one long downhill progression. I've really let myself go! 65 pounds overweight...and I've been trying all sorts of programs and I can't seem to keep the momentum going...or the willpower.

I currently have a gym membership but am not on any specific diet plan (largely because of budget concerns). Just yesterday my dermatologist told me I had something which indicated an insulin issue and was weight related. WHAT A WAKE UP CALL!!! So, for my health and my kids...it's TIME.

I look forward to talking with you all more and learning from you. Any tips or suggestions are always welcome.

Welcome and good luck- I also have 65 lbs to go with this current weight.

If you have insulin problems IMO South Beach Diet is really good

Thumbs up

Hi! This is my first post too!
Good to know that there are others in the same boat. I am 34 with 3 kids and work full time. I see a kidney specialist that put me on a low sodium diet and medication for the sake of my kidneys and pretty much told me that if I ate better and lost weight, I might not have these problems.

Wake up call for me too. If for no other reason, I need to be healthy and set a good example for my kids. I have 40 pounds to lose plus the extra burden of keeping my sodium intake extremely low. Yesterday was Day 1.

Good luck to you! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Hi, Pinkbee,

I'm a newbie here, too. I second the recommendation for South Beach. I'm only on Day 5 and I can tell my blood sugar issues are shaping up already. I'm buckled in for the long haul!
