Default Just starting out! :)

Hello everyone!
I have decided that I have had enough, and I am going to do something about my weight once and for all! In the past, I would get the motivation to lose weight and I would do the 3 day diet. The weight would fall off fast, but would come back even faster (plus more!). Some ladies at work have talked about the success they have had with weight watchers in the past, so that is what I am going to do.
I went to the Dr. on Tuesday, I hadn't been in 2 years - I was sick when I found out that I had gained a whopping 40lbs since my last visit in 08!!! It doesn't help that my husband is scrawny, he can eat all day everyday and lose weight, haha.
I am praying for motivation and determination to stick with this, and to keep it off for good. So excited for all of the support from everyone on 3FCs!

Hey anniex,

I'm new to the forum as well!! I gained a bunch of weight once I stopped working as a raft guide. My lifestyle didn't change much though, I would eat terrible and drink a lot. Just not be on the river all day to earn it. It also didn't help that I had taken a semester off of college and was being a professional couch hippie.

I weighed myself last christmas and it was the MOST I ever weighed at 152 lb. Which isn't too bad but is close to what bmi calls obese. I'm two pounds away from losing the 20 in one year but I've plateaued. Plus, the holidays don't help.

I've fluctuated twice like this before with weight and always did cardio to get it off. This time it didn't work so well so I used exercise videos. It started me building back up muscles. Started with some easier then ones now I try to transition through different Jillian Michaels videos daily. The quickest I've lost weight so far is with Jillian Michaels videos. It sounds like i'm advertising for her or something. But I HATE going to gyms and would have never thought to do exercise videos if they hadn't been on Netflix instant stream.

Anyways good luck! This forum should be interesting. The other forum I belong to is a guitar one which is pretty much ALL dudes. It'll be interesting to see how females interact online.

I know what you mean, I don't particularly like working out at the gym either - would much rather do it in my own home in private. We do have the Katy Trail that runs though our town, and when it was nice I walked on it quite frequently. I am definitely going to take your advice on the Jillian Michaels videos - I have a Netflix account Thank you so much!

The Jillian Michael videos aren't instant stream unfortunately. I broke down in bought those once I thought the videos on netflix weren't doing enough. BUT they are how I got started working out again. I still revisit some of the netflix ones on instant stream though.

AMEN! My husband is the same and it's so frustrating to see him be this bottomless pit.

Hi there,
I am also new and can't believe how much I've gained over the last few years. I live in the arctic so there is no gym here, but I was thinking about getting Wii fit for my birthday. Hopefully that will keep me motivated. Something to try!
