Hi from Maryland
Hi everyone!
I've been lurking here for awhile now - I guess I will take the plunge and finally drop in and say Hi. I've been a yo-yo dieter for probably about 20 years now; it's been up 30lbs, down 25lbs, up 30, down 25 etc... I just can't seem to get off this cycle. Each year I end up a little bit heavier than the year before - probably because I'm getting older; I'm 52 now. I've tried countless diets, and I probably know more about nutrition and exercise than many dietitians.
I was going to wait until January to start my next diet, however I'm pushing 200lbs now and I don't feel so great, so I think this year I'd better start a bit earlier. My goal this coming year - lose 50 pounds and run in the Marine Corps Marathon next October.
